Fiber

Heap Of Sheep Yarn uses super soft, ethically sourced merino wool yarn blends. By combining high quality fiber and a dynamic hand dyed yarn style, I can help elevate your project vision!

Indulge in the creamy and buttery softness of our Artisan Hand Dyed Merino Wool Yarn. Just like fresh churned butter, this pale yellow yarn will add a touch of warmth and luxury to your knitting or crochet projects. Treat yourself to the ultimate buttery delight today!

The skeins are all hand-dyed, by myself, using professional acid dyes and high-quality soft yarns. If you require multiple skeins of yarn, please contact me to arrange that I create them from the same batch.

This tonal color is offered in the following five fibers:

“Airy” 2 ply - 100% Superwash Merino in a worsted weight. This yarn is pillowy soft and airy, making it a great choice for winter garments like hats and scarves, etc.
The price is for one Hank/Skein of yarn weighing approximately 100 g with approximately 220 yards in length.

4 ply - 100% Super Wash Merino in a worsted weight. This yarn offers a beautiful stitch definition with it’s smoother feel and durability. The price is for one Hank/Skein of yarn weighing approximately 100 g with approximately 160 yards in length.

- DK 100% Fine Super Wash Merino Wool in a gorgeous 4 ply, showcasing a beautiful twist! The colours really pop on this super squishy DK yarn. Each skein is approx 100g in weight and 175 yards in length.

- 75% Super Wash Merino Wool and 25% Silk DK weight. This yarn has a gorgeous sheen and is so soft against the skin! The price is for one Hank/Skein of yarn weighing approximately 100 g with approximately 218 yards in length.

- 80/20 Superwash Merino and Nylon Fingering Weight Sock Yarn. I feel this is the perfect blend for soft socks yet durable with the added stability of nylon. The price is for one Hank/Skein of yarn weighing approximately 100 g with approximately 435 yards in length.

Sturdy Sock - 75/25 Superwash Merino and Nylon Fingering Weight Sock Yarn. Choose this blend for a soft feel with the added longevity of 25% nylon, for those who are hard on socks!

Supersized Sturdy Sock - 75/25 Super Wash Merino and Nylon. The same soft and durable quality of our OG sturdy sock except offered in a large hank of 150 g with approximately 650 yards in length. Sometimes you just need that little bit more!

- 75% Superwash Merino Wool, 15 % Cashmere and 10% Silk. Sport Weight 100 gram Skein - This yarn is buttery soft, and feels luxurious against the skin. The combination of these 3 fibers allows room for the cashmere to bloom and the merino wool to plump up and support them, while the silk adds a gorgeous sheen. It is ideal for shawls with the most beautiful drape, and three ply twist easily reveals the pattern. The price is for one Hank/Skein of yarn weighing approximately 100g with approximately 245 yards in length.

Tips

Although dyed in small batches with the same process, different fibers and artistic mood create a unique finished yarn. Please look carefully at the pictures to be sure you choose the fiber and variation that best suits your project. There is no dye lot for a hand dyed yarn as each skein is unique as it is created! Each skein is truly one of a kind!

It is recommended that you alternate skeins during your knitting or crochet project, to blend out variances that occur within the yarns.

Due to the variances in the fiber blends, twist or plies of the yarn bases, colors may shift or appear to have different tones.

Processing Time

With made to order yarn, the average shipping time is 5 to 7 business days after you place your order. Larger orders may take longer to process and ship, please message us prior to ordering to discuss the processing time for your specific needs.

Care

Super Wash Merino wool is known to be machine wash/dry friendly, but I still recommend hand washing and laying flat to dry to extend the life of the yarn and your project! I carefully rinse and wash the yarn after the dye process, but it is still possible a small amount of color may bleed out in the first wash.
